Welcome!
Sarah Hunt, LMSW, CST
(she/her)Hello, I’m Sarah and I’m so glad you’re here!
If you're looking for a non-judgmental sexual health coach & personal cheerleader who loves talking about all things sex, gender, and relationships; uses humor; and respects your process but will gently push you, you’re in the right place.
I have sincere respect for you being here, and believe that struggling with sexual health is not a matter of personal failure, but rather, is the result of a variety of factors that aren’t so scary once we look a little closer.
As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Sex & Relationship Coach with experience supporting hundreds of clients, I specialize in helping individuals and couples reduce anxiety around sex, understand their bodies, and cultivate more satisfying intimate relationships.
Sexual health is greatly connected to our overall health and wellness and I believe every person deserves to feel great about their sexual self and relationships.
If you’re a therapist, why do you also offer coaching?
I absolutely love my work as a Certified Sex Therapist. That said, therapy is not accessible for everyone (not everyone has the finances or health insurance), nor is therapy always needed (not everyone has a mental health disorder). Therapy is also restricted to the state that a therapist is licensed in (I’m licensed in MI, IL, and FL).
As a coach, I am able to provide the same expert level knowledge, passion, and care to folks throughout the United States who are seeking support with their sexual health, who are not looking for mental health disorder treatment, and/or who want group support - either for the financial accessibility or the unique benefits that come from learning in community.
It is my joy and passion to help folks develop confidence in the bedroom and I believe every person deserves to feel great about their sexual self and relationships. I am on a mission to increase accessibility to sexual health education and thriving for all communities.
How do I know I can trust you?
I respect how intimidating it can feel to seek out support regarding sexual concerns. Especially when you don’t know who you are working with. I am a curious, quirky, white, cisgender, ex-vangelical, queer woman.
On a deep level, I want my clients to know that they’re not alone and that, as their coach, I’m not above them. This includes honoring the intersectionality of my clients’ identities, exploring what is important to them, and holding space for their grief and anger as well as their hopes and desires.
My empathy for my clients is informed by my own history of struggle with sexual anxiety, pelvic pain, and lack of sexual confidence. Having been raised in religious fundamentalism and purity culture, I spent decades abandoning my sense of self and performing a role I was taught was expected of me. Regaining my sense of self and developing my own sexual confidence is what inspires me to help others to do the same, regardless of what brought them here.
